Starting: now
Ending: February 28th, 2024
Hello! My name is Lemon and I am hosting a character design competition. I will be judging different categories with a 10 star rating system. And yes, you get to keep your character.
The categories are as follows:
Composistion
Originality
Aesthetic appeal
Silhouette
Overall impact and execution
I will not be judging off of the quality/technical skill of the drawing itself as that would give some people an unfair advantage. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
There will not be a cash prize but a prize pot filled with goodies such as art. To enter the competition: you must agree to add an art prize to the pot. I will be starting off the pot despite not being a participant.
THE PRIZES so far!
1st place:
A detailed critique of your design
50% of the prize pot
a full render figure from me and an icon
2nd place:
A detailed critique
25% of the prize pot
a full figure sketch from me and a colored icon
3rd place:
a detailed critique
25% of the prize pot
a half body sketch from me
For your color palette prompt: https://coolors.co/
For your word prompt, choose from the following:
1. holiday, creation, sailor, class, facade, grave
Now for the rules. 1. One entry per person
If you are an author or writer and you want to participate: you can team up with an art friend. IF you win you will have to split the prize with your teammate.
You must use coolors.co to generate your palette. You will use those five colors as the predominate colors in your clothing or overall character design. You are allowed to play around until you find a good fit. You are allowed to add other colors to the overall design but the five colors you generate must take center stage in some way.
When you submit your design, you must also submit the the palette that you used to me along with your piece. You can submit privately or publicly, but the results will be judged and displayed publicly.
You are allowed to interpret the word prompts anyway you see fit, but you have six to chose from.
IF you lose, you must follow through on your obligation to make a prize to the participants who placed. You will only have to draw or write for one of the people who place who will be assigned to you. If you fail to complete your obligation you will be barred from participating from any future advents.
No fan characters: this includes using the sonic art style. Furry is okay tho
No AI "art" or character creator apps/doll dress up apps. These will get you barred from future games and a block from me.
No pre-existing characters either owned by you or from a fandom. You have to create from scratch.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Hi, so currently I'm thinking of doing a character design competition for folks as a fun way to flex your creative muscles and bring out the best in folks. I'll explain more how the prizes will work, prompts, and rules after I have my therapy session. I'll write a new journal detailing what folks need to know and how this will go down.
I hope you guys are excited!
AI Adoptables are a thing now, and we as artists need to discourage people from buying them and make it inconvenient for the people to buy and to use them.
if you see an AI adopt you like, you can just take it legally. Literally it cannot be copyrighted as judges have ruled if no human creativity nor intervention has been involved.
Refuse to do commissions for people who use AI "art". I don't fucking care what the money they offer is, don't do it.
Refuse to sell adopts to people who buy AI adoptables. If they're willing to buy AI art then they don't care about art, let alone your designs.
I'm fucking sick of AI adopts and I have no shame in being hostile towards techbros
So I've been playing solitaria and I realized it could easily be adapted for two players. My thought was that the setting would be the spirit realm and I'd play one or two of my characters.
I can handle card pulls and fate checks until you get used to the mechanics. DM me if interested!
So I've been doing reptile pet portraits on facebook and that's going well. I'm ready to return to digital art and nbm now, so it was a good break
